JOB DESCRIPTION: Clinical Supervisor

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Director of Services

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the general direction of the Director of Services, the Clinical Supervisor performs senior level professional work involving the delivery of mental health, including, supervision of clinicians, QMHP's‚ or paraprofessionals. This position oversees and administers a wide range of psychological evaluation/assessment, diagnostic, counseling therapy, crisis intervention, and/or case management services. A broad knowledge of therapeutic processes and methodologies is required. 

• Provide clinical supervision to lower level therapists and/or graduate social work students/interns, involving review of clinical documentation, consultation on the provision of care and advisement on quality of service.

• Provides formal teaching, consultation and in-service training to staff members covering a variety of clinical and administrative topics.

• Provides oversight and coordination of quality assurance and quality improvement processes and procedures, including record audits and development of Corrective Action Plans.

• Provides counseling, therapy, and/or psychotherapy to consumers and families as appropriate to the position; prepares treatment plans, discharge plans, and provides crisis intervention and emergency services as required.

• Provides and/or arranges for therapeutic interventions as appropriate for consumers in a crisis condition and for those with serious disturbance problems.

• Plans and facilitates community outreach and education activities, and may serve as a representative at community organizations.

• Establishes and maintains case files, referrals, and other related documents for the treatment of consumers; prepares related documents for legal proceedings; keeps abreast of consumer data to ensure appropriate treatment and care are delivered. 

• Available for assistance during clinical emergencies.

• Provides input, oversight and/or direction with development of new services and expansion.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience

Licensed Clinician with a Master's Degree in Human Services. Minimum of 3 years experience providing
direct clinical care services. Advanced knowledge of clinical social work and mental health counseling
principles, methods, procedures and standards. This position requires licensure as an LPC, LCSW, or LMFT.


JOB DESCRIPTION: Qualified Mental Health Professional Counselor


IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Clinical Supervisor

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manages a small caseload of client families, providing services on an intensive basis
and utilizing short-term, solution focused treatment strategies.

• Prepares written diagnostic assessments, assessing clients from multiple
perspectives, including family functioning, psychological/emotional, social,
academic, medical, behavioral, substance abuse, skills, strengths, barriers to
economic self-sufficiency, treatment history, and others, and utilizing various
assessment instruments.

• Facilitates wraparound team meetings to enlist existing supports in determining
and meeting service objectives and to identify additional resources and supports.

• Prepares written service plan, incorporating input from clients, involved service
providers, and wraparound team members, and clearly identifying problem areas and
needs, strategies, and service objectives. 

• Provides direct clinical services to clients, including individual, family, couple, and
group therapy, and issue-specific or educational groups (parenting skills, anger
management, substance abuse interventions).

• Responds to crisis situations with twenty-four hour a day availability.
• Documents case activities for both clinical and billing purposes.
• Prepares progress reports as required by referral source or service purchaser.

• Participates in Child Specific Team, Family Assessment and Planning Team, and
other interdisciplinary, diagnostic, or planning meeting.

• Collaborates and coordinates with other case involved service providers and
professionals, such as attorneys, school personnel, social workers, and probation
counselors.

• Links clients with external programs or services, such as health services,
recreational activities, child care services, financial resources, employment resources,
child care, AA/NA groups, transportation resources, and others.

• Attends court hearings when families are court-involved and presents testimony
and treatment recommendations as requested by attorneys, referral source, the court,
or clients.

• Guides, collaborates, and coordinates with Alliant mentors regarding service
strategies and case management, ensuring the adequate exchange of information and
assigning mentors case management duties.

• Works with Clinical Supervisor to increase effectiveness of therapeutic
interventions.

• Prepares written Discharge Summary and Plan
• Apprizes Clinical Supervisor of work load, case activity, service barriers, and procedural problems in staff and one-on-one meetings

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

At least a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited college or university and one year of experience providing mental health treatment to troubled children and/or adults, and families.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of principles and techniques of youth and family counseling; knowledge of principles and
techniques of basic interviewing and assessment skills; working knowledge of human services system, roles of human services personnel, and relevant community resources; ability to maintain effective working relationships with other social services providers, service purchasers, and clients; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
